"Hamaji" is an old folk house facility that was renovated from the former kitchen of a bento shop in the Chigasaki / Nango area into a comfortable place full of greenery. The building in the early Showa period, which was built on a site of about 160 tsubo, was renovated as a "one set of old folk house rental villas a day" and a "rental space for tatami mats in the sun", and the adjacent kitchen site "looks at the greenery". It is used as a "small cafe" and a "shop for Japanese vessels and cloth". Eucalyptus, a symbol tree, is planted in the central courtyard, creating a space where you can feel the breeze of the beach and the greenery throughout the year.

Nango, a fisherman's town where the original scenery of Chigasaki remains. The Chigasaki fishing port and the fish market once existed in the Nango area, and since the Meiji era, it has been a vibrant place with many shops lined up as the center of the local economy. In addition, with the opening of Chigasaki Station in 1891, in search of a warm climate and environment where a pleasant sea breeze blows, it has become one of Shonan's leading villas and recreation areas, centered on Nangoin, which was called "Toyoichi" sanatorium. As it developed, cultural people and wealthy people who set up villas gathered from all over the country for rest. (Chigasaki City: From "Overview of Chigasaki")
Located in the center of the Nango area, the old folk house villa "Hamaji" aims to preserve the "past memories" of the changing city by preserving and utilizing the buildings and to "slowly develop the area".

"Hama Time" was completed in the spring of 2018 after about two years of conception and about one year of construction with the cooperation of a local Chigasaki design company and a construction company . The building has been expanded and renovated according to the background of the times, from the landlord's residence built in the early Showa era, to the father modeled after the townhouses in Kyoto and Kanazawa, to the long-used and dilapidated lunch kitchen. It has a very complex structure architecturally and spent a lot of time planning. As a result, due to repeated plan changes, the dim and inorganic central kitchen was removed from the ceiling and reduced to be used as a courtyard, reborn as a gathering place for wind and light. In addition, the residential area where the landlord lived is used as a comfortable rental villa by arranging modern equipment while retaining the taste of that time.
